But the area was once a peacful place now you have the hoons virtually out everynight you have the annoying trail bikes going past our streets and local parks where we once took walks and had picnics but not anymore I have lived in Mill park for the past 6 years and have found it to be an excellent place to live in.
The facilities are fantastic. We have BMX tracks, local parks, golf course within walking distance. The YMCA centre is a 5 minute drive from our home which has gym and all sorts of leisure activities.
We stroll down to Botanica Park Estate, feed the ducks, kids play on the equipment and enjoy the tranquil serenity. Some mornings we hear the kookaburra birds. The neighbours in our street are fantastic. We keep an eye out and help out each each other.
In the past there were some hoons from some social housing down the road. The police cleaned them out and the place has become much safer and better to live in. People walking the street are generally friendly and will say G'day. We have been enjoying high speed cable broadband cable unlike some estates like Botanica Park where customers can only access slow DSL speeds and require a satellite dish for Foxtel.
There are no overhead powerlines. The BUS stops are just round the corner giving access throughout Melbourne top facilities including schools, shops cafe's etc. The nearest train station is Lalor or Thomastown, requires a 10 minute drive.
Plenty road is 1km down the road providing tram access. RMIT university is within walking distance meters. There is main bike trail that links all the way to Melbourne CBD, within meters from our home.
We are approximately 20km from Melbourne CBD. As a cyclist it takes me at best 42 minutes to ride into the city. An averge bike ride would take an hour via the bike trail passing through suburbs such as Reservoir, Preston, Thornbury, Northcote, Fitzroy and Carlton.
Hi, Mill park is nice area to live as they have good cafe,shopping mall and mainly most of family. All people in my neighbour is very friendly and all area is quite impressive. If you drive arounf development blvd you can find out wealth of mill park. Mill park have lots of house which looks like house in Toorak.
So more professional and business people. It is also quite young area. High percentage of young families, value for money compared with other suburbs. Great facilities and recently developed University Hill for shopping.
I have lived here all my life and love the area so much. Much of my love for Mill Park is the people. It is a growing suburb and is always improving. Some minor improvements are needed with regards to the roads in the entire area of Whittlesea. Other than that the roads are quite good in comparison to older areas. University Hill all though not exactly in Mill Park is growing and personally cant wait for a new Cinema and Gym.
