Which x men are dead

As a true hero, Nightcrawler lived long enough to port Hope to Utopia and safety. Illyana Rasputin was a child mutant, the younger sister of Colossus, but she went through a tough life when she was transported to Limbo and left there for years. She ended up de-aging in Inferno , but she ended up infected with the Legacy Virus. Jubilee, who refused to care about anyone, found herself sucked into the little girl's fate, and Kitty Pryde was there to say goodbye to her best friend when she ended up the first to die of the virus.

Jean Grey's deaths in comics have become a running joke to the point where no one cared anymore whether she lived or died. It was just ridiculous how many times the mutant died and returned. However, the first time that she died, it was shocking and heartbreaking. The Phoenix Force had consumed her, and the Hellfire Club had broken her.

She slaughtered an entire galaxy and was sentenced to death. Out of all the X-Men members in history , the one with the kindest heart and deepest soul was Piotr Rasputin, the mutant known as Colossus.

During the Legacy Virus era, a disease that already killed his little sister Illyana, Beast believed he found a cure. However, it required a sacrifice. One mutant would take the cure and activate his powers to spread it to mutants worldwide. Colossus agreed to do it. When he activated his powers, it worked and saved all infected mutants across the planet but killed Colossus immediately in one of the greatest sacrifices in X-Men history.

This final and fatal time, Cyclops is possessed by the Dark Phoenix, killing the man he considers a mentor and father. Marvel Unlimited. Some deaths still reverberate years later, of course.

But some don't. When so many characters die - again and again - it's inevitable that not every single push off the mortal coil lands with the same impact. Here are 10 X-Men who died, and nobody cared. North of 30 characters died in the Age of X-Man storyline, including Wolfsbane , a decision met with a tremendous amount of controversy. Much of the impact of this unfortunate death - and all of the others in the story- got lost in the glare of the story that immediately followed.

The story serves as a bit of a retcon of the landmark Giant-Sized X-Men 1, which had the new X-Men assemble to save the old from the island of Krakoa. Despite being a longstanding member of the team and even a fairly significant player in the X-Men: First Class film, the death of Banshee didn't land with much force.

As with pretty much every X-Man who has ever died, he is later shown to be alive on Krakoa in Dawn of X. Maggot lost his life in a horrific concentration camp for mutants called Neverland. Sad as his death was, it didn't have as much impact as other X-deaths, perhaps due to the general reception to the character.

Maggot was introduced in the late 90s billed as one of the weirdest mutants around, and that he was. His mutant ability consisted of his digestive system actually being a pair of slugs that ate basically anything and could go in and out of his body at will.

At least Xorn goes out in style. Wolverine decapitated him after Xorn killed Jean Grey - an empty death worthy of note on this list - and one that ended the character's controversial run.

Xorn was a character introduced during Grant Morrison's run on the X-Men and was later revealed to be Magneto, who was thought to be dead no one is ever really dead.
